Agency History
Copeland Entertainment was established in late 2007 by Dianne Copeland in the name of her late father John Copeland. Dianne was inspired to create this new venture based on the experience and talents she acquired over the past 10 years managing Mix Master Mike, restructuring and developing his career and as a direct result, taking him to a whole new level. Throughout this time, many of her friends and business colleagues also began relying on Dianne for her advice and guidance with their careers. Therefore, starting her own booking agency and management company seemed to be the obvious choice. This allowed her to take her own career to the next level while doing something she was so passionate about.
Dianne’s talents and experience in A&R, management, modeling and acting, as well as, her experience working as a spokes model and creative director alongside world class Mel Rich (CEO of Phoenix Laboratories) has brought musicians and artists into the health and vitamin industries.
Copeland Entertainment will officially opened its doors for business in July 2008. With their work ethic, ambition and true dedication to their clients and business associates, Dianne and Felicia look forward to building a long and respected history of their own as Copeland Entertainment.
In 2009, Copeland Entertainment was voted “Best DJs For Hire” in Los Angleles by the LA Weekly. Read the article here
Dianne Copeland
Dianne Copeland grew up in Inglewood, CA and has been in the industry since the age of 14. At 17 years old, she began dancing for Prince. From there, she went on to acting and had a 5 season run on HBO’s “First and Ten TV” show. During and after the show’s 8th and final season, she was also busy modeling for many fitness magazine’s doing multiple covers, including Joe Weider’s cover of Muscle and Fitness magazine. Dianne also has an amazing portfolio of 25 national posters and 10 national calendars.
At this point, Dianne was very involved in the rock movement through her association with “The Cat House” and touring around the world with such acts as, The Cult, Megadeth, Guns N’ Roses and Motley Crue. It was during this time she created a record label (Revolution Records) with Ron Laffite (General Manager of Electra Records). She was very busy doing A&R and signing bands. The label was later sold to Giant Records (CEO Irving Azoff).
Dianne was also one of the first to introduce live concert events into the fitness industry. While working alongside Fitness Guru Bill Phillips (author of “Body For Life” and #1 best seller for 5 years), she coordinated live events with such artists as, Crystal Method, Mix Master Mike, DJ AM and many others.
It was at this time she began managing Mix Master Mike and started developing and restructuring his career. Under her guidance, he was one of the first DJ’s to fill the role as an opening act in arenas and major venues for multiplatinum artists such as Guns N Roses. She also landed him his own radio show on KROQ in Los Angeles, CA and helped him to begin distributing his own records. She continues to build Mike’s career and has helped make him one of the most successful and respected DJ’s of all time by weaving and developing his career as you would a platinum selling artist by touring, releasing albums, producing, scoring, video games, sponsorship, endorsements and so much more.
In addition to managing Mike, she became the Spokes model and Creative Director for Phoenix Laboratories (the number one vitamin manufacture in the world and sponsor of the Mr. Olympia contest and Arnold Classic). In this role, she worked side by side with CEO Mel Rich for 8 years and became a trusted business associate and confidant. During this time, she introduced artists such as 50 Cent and Mary J Blige to the fitness, vitamin and bodybuilding world.
Dianne’s vast experience, knowledge and connections provide her with concrete a foundation to build Copeland Entertainment into a world-renowned management company and booking agency which will take her clients to a whole new level.
